Guitar making, a passion

Why invest in a handmade guitar? One of my customers Tim Drackert from the USA answered:

“ Factory guitars sound good, but your handmade custom guitars sound GREAT”!

It’s my passion to make very loud, excellently balanced guitars with a great dynamic range of tonal colours. This process started 20 years ago with my first classical guitar. Over 130 instruments followed in the ensuing years. I use both traditional techniques and materials e.g. animal glue, and modern technology with carbon fibre.

My goal: Very special, loud sounding guitars with excellent playability.

The concept

A powerful sound and a good sustain provides  the player with a broader palette of dynamics and tonal colours.
For every type of guitar I construct a very light soundboard with European spruce or cedar. Bracing is always light and the soundboard is not completely flat, but a bit domed. For all models I use special bracing based on tradition.

I’ve learned that the sound improves using a very, very stiff back and side construction. Stiff back constructions also gives a great projection of the sound.
The neck is extremely rigid to save energy for the soundboard. I’m always researching possible improvements on details for each model, so I  often use carbon fibre in the neck. The idea is: light and flexible soundboard an extremely stiffness for all other parts.

Your new guitar will have a great sound and be  easy to play, lovely to hold and a feast for the eye. The tonal balance will be all you can lust for. Your new guitar will sound very loud from the first day, with great sustain and wide dynamics.
